EUDR software: every plot, every shipment
EUDR software collects the geolocation and supply chain data the EU Deforestation Regulation needs and helps file due diligence statements.
For most UK firms the question is not filing but answering: EU customers will ask for plot data.
The regulation is explained on the EUDR guide.
Dates
When does EUDR software need to be ready?
The application date has been postponed twice: the EUDR now applies from 30 December 2026, and from 30 June 2027 for micro and small operators (Regulation (EU) 2023/1115).
The later date does not apply to products the old EU Timber Regulation already covered; for those, everyone starts on 30 December 2026.
Annex I was rewritten by a 2026 delegated regulation, which took some products out of scope, so check your product codes against the current list (Delegated Regulation 2026/2102).
UK businesses
Does a UK business need EUDR software?
The EUDR applies in Northern Ireland from 30 December 2026, but not in Great Britain (Defra).
A GB business selling to an EU importer is not itself an operator, but it will be asked for the data the importer’s statement needs, above all plot geolocation.
The UK is classified low risk under the EU’s country benchmarking, which allows simplified due diligence for low-risk sourcing (Implementing Regulation 2025/1093).
The government has proposed a separate GB Deforestation Regulation for businesses over £1 million turnover using seven commodities (Defra).
The data
What should EUDR software hold?
Plot geolocation for every relevant commodity, the link from each plot to each shipment, the risk assessment, and the due diligence statement reference.
Penalties are set by member states but must include a maximum fine of at least 4% of Union-wide turnover for a legal person, so the evidence has to survive inspection.
See supply chain risk management software and TNFD reporting software.
The demonstration
What should you test before buying?
Bring one commodity supply chain with real plot data.

Tick a test only when the vendor has demonstrated it with a representative record and shown the evidence or export.
0 of 5 tests demonstrated (0%). This is a checklist result, not a score for the vendor.
Still to test: Load and validate plot geolocation for each supplier; Link plots to shipments and product codes in the current Annex I; Record the risk assessment and simplified due diligence where allowed; Produce the data an EU importer’s statement needs; Export the evidence for an inspection.
