Greenly
A platform built around products for each regime and task: SECR, UK SRS, IFRS S1 and S2, CBAM, LCA and procurement.

Software · two platforms in their own words, read 11 October 2026
Greenly and Normative are two carbon accounting platforms with UK reporting products, and in September 2026 they announced that they are merging.
So the comparison has changed: it is now about what each brings, what the combined platform inherits, and what a customer of either should check.
This page sets the two side by side in their own words; this site has tested neither and ranks neither.
The short answer
Greenly and Normative announced a merger in September 2026, so “Greenly vs Normative” is no longer a choice between rivals.
Greenly’s announcement says that “Normative’s scientific methodology now feeds directly into Greenly’s AI-native platform”.
Each brings its own strength, in its own words: Greenly a single platform with products for each UK regime, Normative a carbon accounting engine built on 349,000 verified emission factors.
The full account of the announcements is on Greenly and Normative merger.

Side by side
Greenly’s own pages name products for SECR, UK SRS, IFRS S1 and S2, CBAM, life cycle assessment and supplier data.
Normative’s own pages put its emphasis on the accounting engine underneath: Scope 1, 2 and 3 built to GHG Protocol standards, independently verified, with a named Climate Strategy Advisor on every account.
What each brought
Greenly describes itself as one audit-ready platform to measure, report and reduce a company’s emissions.
Normative describes itself as a carbon accounting platform built on 349,000 verified emission factors.
Both offer product footprints: Greenly through an LCA platform it says is audited by ADEME, Normative through Normative PCF.
Both have UK customers in mind: Greenly with a UK SRS product, Normative with a customer story on SECR data and a PPN 006 Carbon Reduction Plan.
Each profile on this site sets the vendor’s claims against the UK duties: Greenly and Normative.

Where one platform’s pages make a claim and the other’s do not, the merger may close the gap; ask which features the combined platform will carry.
If your platform changes
The reporting duty does not change when a vendor merges; the way your figures are calculated might.
SECR asks for last year’s figures beside this year’s (Schedule 7), and the GHG Protocol asks for a recalculation where a methodology change is significant (2019 guidance).
UK activity should still be converted with the DESNZ factor set for the year the activity took place.
And your data processing contract should name the entity that holds your data, under the UK GDPR processor terms.
The checker beside this text lists what your next report has to carry if the platform or method moves.

Questions to put in writing
These are routine questions for any platform customer, and both companies publish contact routes for them.
Keep the answers with your contract, beside Greenly’s published statement on contracts and pricing.
None of this needs to wait for the merger to complete; the announcements give no completion date.

Every product statement here is the vendor’s own; the wider market is on carbon reporting software, and the six-question test is on SECR reporting software.
Two capable platforms becoming one is a reason to check your method, not a reason to worry about your report.
Frequently asked
Greenly and Normative announced in September 2026 that they are merging, so the choice is no longer between two separate futures.
Both describe UK reporting features on their own sites.
The useful question is what each offers today for your duties, and what the combined business will offer; ask both in writing, and test either on your own data.
They announced a merger: Greenly’s announcement is datelined 10 September 2026, Normative’s 15 September 2026 and the PR Newswire release 17 September 2026.
The three announcements give no completion date, so the details are on our merger page, in the owners’ own words.
In its own words: “Measure, report, and reduce your company's emissions on one audit-ready sustainability management platform”.
It describes products for SECR, UK SRS, IFRS S1 and S2, CBAM, life cycle assessment and supplier data.
In its own words: “Normative is a carbon accounting platform that helps companies calculate, report, and reduce Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions using 349,000 verified emission factors”.
It describes one-click reporting for CSRD and SECR, a CBAM service and product carbon footprint software.
This site does not rank products and has tested neither.
Both describe calculations built on the GHG Protocol.
Greenly’s announcement says Normative’s scientific methodology now feeds directly into Greenly’s platform, which suggests the two methods are coming together rather than competing.
Neither publishes a price on the pages this site read, so both are shown as enterprise level, price on request.
Greenly’s FAQ says no changes are planned to existing contracts or pricing as a direct result of the merger.
Both say so.
Greenly describes a SECR product, and Normative describes one-click reporting to support CSRD, SECR and other disclosures.
SECR itself is set by Schedule 7 to SI 2008/410, so check that the output carries every line, including last year’s figures.
Greenly describes connecting GHG Protocol data to UK SRS reporting.
Normative’s pages read by this site made no UK SRS claim, which is a question to ask, not a finding.
Listed companies apply UK SRS on a comply-or-explain basis for periods from 1 January 2027.
Both address the EU mechanism: Greenly describes a CBAM platform and Normative a CBAM expert service.
The UK has its own CBAM under Finance Act 2026 Part 5, so a UK importer should ask which regime a tool covers.
None of the three announcements makes a statement addressed to existing Normative customers.
Ask Normative in writing which entity you contract with, which platform you will use, and whether your methodology or factors will change; the checker on this page lists what your next report has to carry if anything does.
Greenly’s FAQ says that if you are already a Greenly customer, nothing changes to your existing contract or day-to-day use of the platform as a direct result of the announcement, and that your account team remains your main point of contact.
No. Every product statement on this page is the vendor’s own, linked to the page it is on and read on 11 October 2026; every regulatory statement is cited to its owner.
