ISSB software: the IFRS S1 and S2 platforms, and how to choose

ISSB software helps a company prepare disclosures under IFRS S1 and IFRS S2, the International Sustainability Standards Board’s standards, and in the UK under their endorsed versions, UK SRS S1 and S2.

35 vendors in this site’s registry make an ISSB claim on their own pages; this page lists them in their own words and shows how to shortlist, test and buy.

How a tool should map disclosures and tags is on ISSB reporting software.

IFRS or UK SRS

Are you buying for IFRS S2, UK SRS S2, or both?

A UK group with listings or subsidiaries abroad may report against both, so the tool has to hold one dataset and show two views.

The government’s response explains why the UK versions differ; the differences are small but they change the output.

The mapping work is described on ISSB reporting software; this page is about the purchase.

From the list to three

How do you cut 35 platforms to three demos?

Tick UK SRS in the tool beside this text if you are a UK listed company: 6 vendors claim both on their own pages.

Tick Scope 3 if your value chain is large, because Scope 3 is where S2 reporting takes most of the effort.

Then cut by the part of S1 that is not climate: a tool built only for carbon may not hold wider sustainability-related risks.

Six well-known platforms are set side by side on IFRS and UK SRS software compared.

One group, start to finish

What does choosing look like for a UK group reporting abroad?

Group D is an illustration: a UK listed group with a subsidiary whose own market expects IFRS S2.

It ticks ISSB, UK SRS and Scope 3 in the long-list tool, then asks three vendors to produce both views from the same records.

The one that shows where the UK version differs, without a second dataset, goes forward.

What should you ask in an ISSB demo?

Ask the vendor to name the edition of IFRS S2 it implements before anything else.

Then ask for both the IFRS and the UK SRS view from your own data.

NoA statement about it is

PS26/19 asks a listed company to state whether it obtained third-party assurance and, if so, from whom, to what level and under which standard; it does not require assurance.

Assurance over sustainability information can be given under ISSA 5000 or, for emissions, ISAE 3410, and both need evidence a practitioner can follow.

The UK assurance picture is on sustainability assurance.

Frequently asked

ISSB software, answered

What is ISSB software?

Software that helps a company prepare sustainability disclosures under the International Sustainability Standards Board’s standards: IFRS S1 for sustainability-related financial information in general and IFRS S2 for climate.

In the UK the endorsed versions are UK SRS S1 and S2.

Which software supports ISSB?

In this site’s registry, 35 vendors make an ISSB or IFRS S2 claim on their own pages, read 11 October 2026 and 30 September–1 October 2026; 6 also make a UK SRS claim.

They are listed here alphabetically, in their own words.

What is the best ISSB software?

This site has tested no product and names no best.

Choose the tool that produces both the IFRS and the UK SRS view from one dataset, names the edition of IFRS S2 it implements, and leaves evidence an assurer can use.

Is ISSB software the same as UK SRS software?

Close, not identical.

UK SRS S1 and S2 are the UK’s endorsed versions of IFRS S1 and S2, published on 25 February 2026 with UK amendments; a UK listed company reports against UK SRS on a comply-or-explain basis under FCA PS26/19.

Do UK companies have to use ISSB software?

No company has to use any software.

Listed companies in UKLR 6, 14, 15, 16 and 22 report against UK SRS on a comply-or-explain basis for periods beginning on or after 1 January 2027; for everyone else, UK SRS is voluntary.

Does ISSB software need XBRL tagging?

Only if a filing regime asks for it.

The ISSB’s taxonomy is for tagging disclosures and adds no disclosure requirements of its own; check whether your filing route needs tags before paying for them.

How much does ISSB software cost?

Most vendors on the list quote rather than publish.

Prices usually rise with entities, modules such as scenario analysis and value-chain emissions, and the number of frameworks covered.

Can ISSB software handle other countries’ versions?

Some vendors say so; check by asking for the jurisdictions the tool supports and the version of each, in writing.

New ISSB standards apply in the UK only once endorsed.

Do we need assurance features?

PS26/19 asks a listed company to say whether third-party assurance was obtained and, if so, from whom and to what level; it does not require assurance.

A tool that leaves a clean evidence trail makes either answer easier.

Who owns the data in ISSB software?

You do, with the vendor as processor under a written UK GDPR contract.

Read the exit terms before you sign.

How long does a first ISSB cycle take on new software?

There is no official figure.

The time goes on identifying sustainability-related risks and opportunities under S1, collecting Scope 3, and agreeing what will be explained rather than disclosed in the first year.
