Software · a buyer’s guide to TCFD tools
TCFD software helps a company write climate disclosures in the Task Force’s four-pillar shape: governance, strategy, risk management, and metrics and targets.
15 vendors in this site’s registry still use the TCFD label on their own pages; this page lists them and shows how to buy for UK SRS S2 and the Companies Act, which is what the label now means.
What a tool must output is on TCFD reporting software.
An old label
The Task Force disbanded on 12 October 2023, and its website is no longer updated.
Its four pillars and eleven recommended disclosures were carried into IFRS S2, and from there into UK SRS S2.
So “TCFD software” is a name for two live duties: the listing rule for listed companies, and the Companies Act disclosures for large private companies and LLPs.
The outputs for each are on TCFD reporting software; this page is about the purchase.

A vendor missing from this list may still do the work: put the question to it in writing.
From TCFD to UK SRS
From the list to three
Start from the TCFD list, then tick UK SRS or ISSB in the tool beside this text: the vendors left are the ones whose own pages claim both the old label and the new standard.
If you are a large private company, the Companies Act section 414CB disclosures are your duty, and UK SRS may be a choice rather than a rule.
Then cut by scenario analysis, the part of climate reporting where tools differ most, and by whether emissions accounting is included or bought separately.

Alphabetical; the order ranks nothing. A claim is what a vendor says, not a test result.

One company, start to finish
Company C is an illustration: a commercial company with equity shares in UKLR 6, which has written TCFD-style disclosures in documents for several years.
For periods beginning on or after 1 January 2027 it reports against UK SRS on a comply-or-explain basis under PS26/19.
It asks three vendors to rebuild last year’s report against UK SRS S2’s paragraphs and to list the gaps, which tells it more than any feature list.
The vendor that also drafts the comply-or-explain statement from those gaps goes forward.

A listed company in UKLR 6, 14, 15, 16 or 22 reports against UK SRS on a comply-or-explain basis for periods beginning on or after 1 January 2027, under FCA PS26/19.
A tool sold as TCFD software should show its UK SRS S2 output in the demo.
Yes.
The climate-related financial disclosures in sections 414CA and 414CB of the Companies Act 2006, inserted by SI 2022/31, are separate from the listing rule and continue.
A tool may need to produce both.

Choose the tool that rebuilds last year’s report against UK SRS S2, produces the comply-or-explain statement, and keeps its scenario assumptions on record, on your data.
Very nearly.
Climate disclosure software is the wider label for the same work, covered on our climate disclosure software page; TCFD is the older name many vendors still use.
Larger occupational pension schemes have their own climate governance and reporting duties under regulations made in 2021.
Some vendors serve them; their reporting is covered on our pension scheme climate reporting pages.
Most vendors on the list quote rather than publish.
Prices usually depend on the number of entities, modules such as scenario analysis, and whether emissions accounting is included.
The narrative pillars are written by people in any case.
The metrics pillar needs emissions to the GHG Protocol, which a spreadsheet can hold for a simple group; scenario analysis is where software usually earns its place.
You do, with the vendor as processor under a written UK GDPR contract.

There is no official figure.
The work is mapping last year’s disclosures to UK SRS S2, filling the gaps, and agreeing what the company will explain rather than disclose in the first year.
