CSRD software: whether you need it, and which platforms say they do it

CSRD software helps a company report under the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive: a double materiality assessment, the ESRS datapoints that follow, and an assured sustainability statement.

After Omnibus I far fewer UK groups need it, so this page starts with that question, then lists the 62 platforms whose own pages claim CSRD and shows how to cut them to three.

What the revised ESRS ask of a tool is on CSRD reporting software.

First question

Does your UK group still need CSRD software?

Omnibus I narrowed the scope sharply: an EU undertaking or group must now exceed both 1,000 employees and €450 million turnover, from FY2027, under the amended Accounting Directive.

The Commission’s own estimate is 6,753 companies remaining, about 85% fewer than before.

If neither route reaches you, you probably need UK SRS or a supplier tool, not CSRD software; the routes are worked through on CSRD reporting for UK companies.

UK
group

Through an EU entity

An EU undertaking or group over 1,000 employees and €450m turnover, from FY2027.

Art 19a(1), Art 29a(1).

As a non-EU parent

Over €450m EU turnover in each of the last two years, with an EU subsidiary or branch above €200m.

Art 40a.

The platforms

Which platforms say they support CSRD?

62 of the 73 vendors in this site’s registry make a CSRD claim on their own pages, read 11 October 2026 and 30 September–1 October 2026, listed alphabetically.

It is the largest group in the registry; each line is the vendor’s own, linked to the page that says it.

62 vendors, alphabetically. Each line is the vendor’s own description, linked to the page it is on.

A vendor missing from this list may still do the work: put the question to it in writing.

From the list to three

How do you cut 62 platforms to three demos?

Most of the work is cutting: with this many vendors claiming CSRD, the useful question is what else the tool must do.

Tick UK SRS in the tool beside this text if the group also reports in the UK; 7 vendors claim both.

Tick Scope 3 if the value chain is large, and CBAM if the EU entity imports covered goods.

Then ask every remaining vendor to name the ESRS version it implements, in writing; the ones that cannot drop out.

Your long list · from vendors’ own pages, read 11 October 2026 and 30 September–1 October 2026

Start: vendors whose own pages mention CSRD (62). Tick what else the same tool must serve.

62 of 62 vendors make every claim you ticked.

Alphabetical; the order ranks nothing. A claim is what a vendor says, not a test result.

Nothing you tick is stored or sent.

One group, start to finish

What does choosing look like for a UK parent with an EU subsidiary?

Group F is an illustration: a UK listed parent whose German subsidiary exceeds both 1,000 employees and €450 million turnover.

The subsidiary reports under the revised ESRS from FY2027; the parent reports against UK SRS on a comply-or-explain basis under PS26/19.

It ticks CSRD and UK SRS in the long-list tool and asks three vendors for both views from one dataset.

The vendor that names the ESRS version and filters datapoints to the subsidiary’s material topics goes forward.

In the demo

What should you ask in a CSRD demo?

Ask for the ESRS version first, then for one material topic traced from assessment to datapoint to evidence.

A tool that shows every datapoint, material or not, will make you do the filtering.

Assurance under CSRD is limited assurance; a tool that leaves evidence an assurer can sample is enough.

Frequently asked

CSRD software, answered

What is CSRD software?

Software that helps a company report under the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive: a double materiality assessment, the ESRS datapoints that follow from it, value-chain data and an assured sustainability statement.

What the revised ESRS ask of a tool is on our CSRD reporting software page.

Does a UK company need CSRD software?

Only through an EU route.

After Omnibus I, an EU undertaking or group is in scope if it exceeds both 1,000 employees and €450 million turnover, from FY2027; a non-EU group can be caught by Article 40a with more than €450 million EU turnover in each of the last two years and an EU subsidiary or branch above €200 million.

Which software supports CSRD?

In this site’s registry, 62 vendors make a CSRD claim on their own pages, read 11 October 2026 and 30 September–1 October 2026; 7 also name UK SRS.

They are listed here alphabetically, in their own words.

What is the best CSRD software?

This site has tested no product and names no best.

Choose the tool that names the ESRS version it implements, filters datapoints to your material topics, and produces a UK SRS view from the same data if you need one.

Which ESRS version should CSRD software use?

The revised ESRS in Delegated Regulation (EU) 2026/1563, in force from 10 November 2026 and applying from FY2027.

Ask every vendor to name the version in writing.

Does CSRD software need XBRL?

Not yet.

EFRAG released a draft taxonomy for the revised ESRS for consultation; tagging is not yet mandatory.

Buy tagging as a later option, not a must-have.

How many companies still need CSRD software?

The Commission estimated 6,753 companies in scope after Omnibus I, about 85% fewer than before.

Can CSRD software also do UK SRS?

Some vendors say so: 7 in this site’s registry claim both on their own pages.

UK SRS uses single materiality, so the UK view is narrower than the ESRS one.

How much does CSRD software cost?

10 of the 62 vendors publish a price or a free tier on their own pages; the rest quote.

Prices usually rise with entities, topics and the value-chain module.

What does a supplier need instead of CSRD software?

Usually far less.

A reporter’s requests to its value chain are capped by reference to the voluntary standard, in force since 24 September 2026; a supplier can often answer with a simpler tool.

Who owns the data in CSRD software?

You do, with the vendor as processor under a written contract; for a UK company, UK GDPR sets what it must include.

Read the exit terms before you sign.
